The day started with driving out to Tucker to pick up Kenny. We went for breakfast at Thumbs Up Diner in Decatur then walked around while playing a harmonica (sorta) and saw what Decatur had to offer. We then met up with Jenny for lunch at Flip Burger. It was a delight being around an old friend. I forgot how easy it is to be one's self when around someone like Kenny. It was like a home-cooked meatloaf dinner for my soul: nourishing and lovely.
I dropped Kenny off and met up with Will and Steve so I could help work on getting the furniture set up in the new office! It involved a lengthy trip to Ikea (where you can get a cup of coffee for a $1!!!). Then a trip to Target. Then we went back to the office to put together Ikea furniture. Steve and I should open up a business where we charge people to put together that furniture. It was pretty quick.
The office looks great. I just need to furnish my office with some furniture and get my act together for setting up my firm name, my trust account, and my malpractice carrier. There's a lot to do and I got a while to go.
But what a lovely day spent with good friends. I didn't realize just how restorative such a busy day could turn out to be.
